Happy Marriage |
A mutually happy, long-lasting marriage is a seemingly rare joy, karmically speaking at least. First - congratulations on having found one another! Not married? No problem. A mutually beneficial, long-term business partnership requires most of the same fundamental considerations.
In astrology, marriages and all major partnerships (except secret ones) are governed by the Seventh House (the part of the sky the Sun moves through every day from roughly 4 p.m. to sunset). The Seventh House is naturally ruled by the diplomatic, gracious sign Libra. Libra is a Cardinal Sign, good at starting things and being self-motivated. And it's an Air Sign - intellectual, willing to talk, listen, and keep communication going.
Let's look at just the elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, and see how they can clue us in to knowing how to make a marriage last!
Is your partner a Fire Sign? Passion is the name of the game for Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Out of the bedroom, as well as in, your fiery partner needs to fully express that passion. It's almost impossible to discourage a Fire Sign, and unnecessary to encourage one's outgoing side. Feed that passion in a positive way, and no problem or bad idea will be too hard to handle. Aries especially needs praise and honesty. Leo thrives on admiration. Sagittarius responds best to shared enthusiasm.
Is your partner an Earth Sign? Security is the cornerstone for a happy Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. Being practical, responsible, and thorough would be your Earth Sign partner's dream. No one is perfect, and they know it, but they appreciate the effort. Taurus would like a touch of comfort and style. If it's out of your financial reach and you go for it anyway, Taurus will forgive. Virgo treasures all the little things - the tokens and gestures that show how you constantly care and love him or her. Capricorn hates waste and extravagance, but admires thrift and persistence.
Is your partner an Air Sign? Communication keeps any Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius happy. The worst thing you can do is to stop talking, so keep the dialog going and listen so you can always respond in some insightful new way. Gemini wants to be constantly engaged and never bored. Libra wants peace and harmony for everyone in the world, but especially for both of you. Aquarius may seem distant, but wants a deeper intellectual discussion that can help humanity as well as the two of you.
Is your partner a Water Sign? Emotions, sincerity, and matters of the heart are crucial for a Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces. No logic or real world concern can compete with devotion and love despite all odds. Cancer especially values family ties. Scorpio craves total commitment. Pisces may be needy and clingy at times, but a tender reassurance of your love is all that's required.
If you know the Zodiac Sign on the descendant in your natal chart (this is the sign ruling your personal Seventh House), then you have the description of the partner you think you should have. It's my experience, though, that we rarely know what's best for ourselves. A more difficult or challenging partner can be more than worth the grief and give you a much richer life.
Remember, your willpower and personal decisions are more important and powerful than any horoscope or compatibility chart. So, try to know your own mind and heart. Some marriages may not be destined to last forever. Some marriages, though, are. To paraphrase H. L. Mencken, whatever can be said about marriage, it remains one of the best ways for two people to really get to know one another! May your marriage (or partnership) be harmonious and fulfilling!.....
